Our process
We believe we can create from nature without affecting it
At the heart of what we do is the tagua seed, a natural seed from the tagua palm, also known as vegetable ivory, from the tropical forests of Ecuador. This palm takes between 14 and 15 years to reach maturity and produce its first fruits.
We work directly with small families of artisans in rural communities who harvest the tagua seeds by hand. After harvesting, the seeds are dried (for this part of the process we need a lot of sun) until they harden and are ready to be transformed.
We do not use large machines, everything is handcrafted and slow.
The seeds are carefully polished, dyed, and finished by our artisans.
Our seeds do not cause deforestation or harm nature; it is a natural process.
The process is circular, waste tagua is returned to the earth or used locally (for example, to feed animals), so nothing is lost.
Our seeds also help save the African elephant, as they are an alternative to animal ivory.
